Officer J. Labay started his  professional career in the medical field in 2008 serving various communities, such as Alvin, Danbury, and the Clear Lake area conducting emergency and non-emergency medical transports. 

Officer Labay was born in South Houston and moved to the Brazoria County area, attending Alvin Community College Police Academy in 2019. Officer Labay also received his Associates of Applied Sciences in Criminal Justice and Police Administration from Alvin Community College in 2016. 

Officer Labay is an Intermediate Peace Officer working on his Advanced Peace Officer license. He holds numerous specialty certifications including, but not limited to, Mental Health Officer, Field Training Officer, ALERRT, and Sexual Assault Family Violence Investigation (SAFVIC).

Officer Labay spends his time off helping volunteer organizations, such as Honor Flight Houston, and has also received a Presidential Volunteer Service Award for his commitments to serving the community.
