Sergeant L. Garcia began his career in Law Enforcement as a Reserve Police Officer with the West Columbia Police Department where he served as a Patrol Officer and a Warrant Officer. He later served as a Patrol Officer for the City of Arcola Police Department.

In September of 2018, Sergeant Garcia began working for the City of Hitchcock Police Department as a Patrolman and Field Training Officer. In 2020, Sergeant Garcia was promoted to Nightshift Patrol Sergeant, and later, Dayshift Patrol Sergeant. He currently holds the position of Sergeant with Hitchcock Police Department's Criminal Investigation Division and is also assigned to the Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task Force.

Sergeant Garcia maintains an Advanced Texas Peace Officer License, is a graduate of FBI-LEEDA Leadership Trilogy, and has attended numerous trainings in leadership and skill. He is certified as a Hostage and Crisis Negotiator and as a SWAT Operator. Sergeant Garcia takes pride in helping others and serving the community as well as protecting the citizens of Hitchcock. He has a strong drive and passion for law enforcement and is a firm believer in the motto "Lead by Example".  

In his spare time, Sergeant Garcia enjoys traveling, the outdoors, and spending time with family and friends.
