Sergeant D. Dorsey is the B-Shift night patrol Sergeant for Hitchcock Police Department, where he has served the community with professionalism, integrity, and dedication since 2020. Sergeant Dorsey currently holds an Intermediate Peace Officer's License, a Basic County Jailer's License, and has successfully passed the Jail Administrator Examination, which requires a passing grade of 100.

Sergeant Dorsey holds a plethora of certifications to include Basic Instructor, Firearms Instructor, Taser Instructor, De-escalation Instructor, Radar/Lidar Instructor, Field Training Officer, and Mental Health Peace Officer. In 2020, Sergeant Dorsey was awarded Officer of the Year and completed the FBI Leeda Trilogy program in 2023.

Sergeant Dorsey is currently attending Texas A&M University-Commerce to obtain his bachelor’s degree in criminal justice where he achieved a 4.0 GPA during the 2023 fall semester and was placed on the President's List of Scholars. Sergeant Dorsey plans to obtain a master's degree in public administration once he graduates in May of 2025. 

Outside of work, Sergeant Dorsey enjoys spending time with his family, traveling, practicing his skills at the gun range, and hopes to one day invest in real estate.
